Telehealth, Vision & Dental

Mobile telehealth services are available for students and staff through a partnership that PCSD has with Pickens Urgent Care and Primary Care. To enroll in the program parents must complete two consent forms. To access the consent forms, go to Pickenscare.com and click on the green diamond P, Student Registration or you can complete the attached form and turn it into your child's school nurse.

Free vision care is available to all PCSD students thanks to a partnership with Prevent Blindness of Georgia. Through this program, any child who does not pass a vision screening qualifies to receive a comprehensive eye exam and glasses if prescribed. The eye exams are provided free of charge regardless of the family's income. If you would like your child to receive a free comprehensive eye exam and free glasses at our in-school clinic please contact your child's school nurse.

In-school full-service dental care is provided by the Help a Child Smile Mobile Dental Program. Childhood cavities are more common than asthma. Infection from tooth decay can lead to other health problems. They will visit your child's school in the fall and spring of the school year, plus additional follow-up visits as needed. Dental care at school includes a complete exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, sealants, and cavity treatment when needed. If your child does not have a regular dentist you can sign them up by turning in a dental care consent form to your child's school nurse. If your child already has a dentist you should keep going to that dentist.
