Multi-Tiered System of Supports

Pickens County School District is committed to supporting and meeting the learning needs of students so they can be enrolled, employed, or enlisted upon graduation.

Learning supports are provided to students in multiple ways --

If a student is working on essential grade-level standards, teachers will differentiate and scaffold instruction in order to help students gain the knowledge and skills necessary.  If a student needs additional learning support to acquire essential skills from a previous grade level, these needs are addressed through a process known as Response to Intervention.  The additional learning supports are provided by the classroom teacher, interventionist, and/or other trained school staff.
