Make-Up Days Announced
The Pickens County School District has announced school will be in session during the reserved Make-up days on the school calendar. February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd were originally reserved as potential make-up days. Now, due to excessive school calendar interruptions and predictions of additional cold weather, school will be in session during those days.
Dragonettes To Host State Tournament
Friday, February 16th, the Dragonettes are hosting the 1st round of the State Playoff Tournament. It has been over 18 years since we've hosted a State Playoff Game. Admission into the game on Friday at 7:00 pm will be $7. Please make plans to attend Friday night and cheer on our team. They have worked extremely hard and will represent Pickens County well. Go NETTES!
Olivia Moore Signs With Georgia Tech
We are pleased to announce Miss Olivia Moore, daughter of Douglas and Michele Moore, signed a Track and Field scholarship with the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to her track and field sports, Olivia is an exceptional student and was elected 2018 Miss PHS. Congratulations to Miss Moore!
HFMD Sickness - Information
HFMD is a common viral infection that most often affects children. A health care provider can identify HFMD by the symptoms reported, and the appearance and location of blisters. School Board Approves 2018-2019 School Calendar
After several meetings to review of calendar options, the Pickens County Board of Education has approved the 2018-2019 school calendar. A great deal of consideration and debate goes into the approval of the school calendar. This year has been no different.

JES Designated National BETA School of Distinction
We are pleased to announce Jasper Elementary School has been awarded the National BETA School of Distinction. "By increasing student involvement in Beta, you provide a path for improved academic performance and character development in your school, as those qualities are hallmarks of the organization."
FREE Sports Physicals
On Saturday, April 28th, free sports physicals will be offered to any student athlete in the Pickens County School District. The physicals will be held at the Chattahoochee Technical College. More information to follow.

Welcome to Pickens County Schools! Our Central Registration facility is located at 158 D.B. Carroll Street, Jasper, Georgia. The Registration Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 3:00pm and by appointment.
The information below is necessary to register a student in the Pickens County School System:

Pickens County Schools use Infinite Campus as our Online Grading and Student information system. Parents are allowed to establish an account or reset their password by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. (This email must be sent from the parent or guardian email address listed in student's records.) If you need to update or change student information or email addresses, please send signed note to student's school.
The School Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.
Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act includes the Child Find mandate. Child Find requires all school districts to identify, locate and evaluate all children with disabilities, regardless of the severity of their disabilities. This obligation to identify all children who may need special education services exists even if the school is not providing special education services to the child. The IDEA requires all States to develop and implement a practical method of determining whichchildren with disabilities are receiving special education and related services and which children are not. (20 U.S.C. 1412(a)(3); Wrightslaw: Special Education Law, pages 72, 206-207).

Pickens County Schools Release the New District Elementary Zones for the 2018 - 2019 School Year.
The Pickens County School District is preparing for upcoming changes and consolidations of schools to better serve the students and community of Pickens County. Rather than incurring the cost of building a new school, the BOE has approved a plan to restructure the school district. Four elementary schools will be consolidated into three. Two Middle schools will be reorganized into a 5th and 6th Grade school - Jasper Middle School, and a 7th and 8th grade school will be created - Pickens Jr. High School.
